About the role:
Based in Kwinana and assisting the Electrical Superintendent to ensure safe and effective operation of the electrical systems supplying and controlling the process plants and associated equipment, maximising equipment availability, minimising costs and effectively supervising the electrical team on site and in the workshops.
The position involves maintenance management and execution as part of the CSI operations and workshops team and includes site based operations, improvement and commissioning works as required achieving productive and professional outcomes. Execution is focussed on site & workshop activities.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and relevant standards and codes.
- Lead and direct electrical team to carry out plant maintenance activities on equipment such as;
High and Medium voltage motors and control systems, SCADA and telemetry systems, lighting systems, Power reticulation, Air-conditioning systems, Communication systems, Electrical Magnets, Motor Control Cubicles and Sub Stations and all electrical and control circuits, plant and components in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure completion of all statutory checks and inspections such as Tool Tagging, Emergency Stop tests, lanyard systems and other critical protection devices.
- Reporting and recording of maintenance and installation activities as required by statute, client or Company guidelines.
- Compliance with all Safety Rules and Procedures to ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner at all times and participation in any Safety or Training initiatives identified and implemented by the Company and/or the Client.
- Monitor the skills and performance of electrical resources and provide advice, training and direction to ensure the CSI team is meeting all necessary performance objectives.
- Assist with, and contribute to operational and improvement activities associated with the planning and performance of works to ensure the smooth running of the site based operations
Qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Current WA ‘A’ Grade Electrical License
- Experience with electrical maintenance activities on a mineral processing plant or similar
- Familiarity with statutory obligations
- Previous people management experience at a Supervisor level
- Ability to work within a team environment to achieve desired results.
- Physically mobile with a good fitness level
- Demonstrated PLC and fault finding experience preferably in the crushing and mining industry
