Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join the assets team! This is an exciting opportunity for to step into leading their electrical team!
Your day at Taronga zoo is never the same! You'll find yourself working on animal exhibits, function spaces, restaurants, equipment, education spaces, events spaces, research laboratories, wildlife hospital; many different environments! All whilst overlooking Sydney's incredible harbor whilst overlooking Sydney's incredible harbor!
It truly is a magnificent and unique position, working alongside a great trades team.
- A Monday to Friday role, with opportunities for weekends and out of hours work.
Reporting into the Asset Delivery Manager, this position will supervise a team of electrical trade staff and contractors who manage planned and on demand repairs and maintenance of a variety of equipment from building management controls systems, lighting systems, pumping systems, standard power and lighting systems as well as overseeing infrastructure maintenance and contributing to planning of future projects to support conservation, research, education and visitor activities of the Taronga Conservation Society Australia.
Key Accountabilities…- Manage day to day works schedule for in-house resources, allocate duties, monitor performance and provide direction on work to be performed.
- Coordinate and prioritise work requests by managing and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure that works have been completed to satisfactory requirements.
- Ensure all safety requirements are met including the development of SWMS and ensure use by trades staff
- Ensure plant rooms and work areas are maintained at safe working standards..
- Engage contract labour as required and within the Taronga guidelines.
- Manage the Facilities Branch WHS systems and ensure that all plant and equipment for the group is maintained and is appropriate for the group.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga's sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga's Work, Health and Safety Charter.
We are looking for candidates that have:
- Trade qualifications in electrical
- Demonstrated experience in supervising a diverse team of trade staff.
- Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual vehicle operator.
- NSW Working with Children Check
