Your new role
The Electrical Commissioning Technician/ Manager is responsible for overseeing the final stages of solar photovoltaic and BESS projects, including system installation, testing, and commissioning to ensure that it meets quality, safety, and performance standards. This role involves coordinating various stakeholders, managing the commissioning process, and resolving any issues that may arise during this phase.
Key responsibilities are:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and execute a commissioning plan.
- Ensure that the commissioning activities are integrated into the project schedule.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that the solar PV system is installed correctly and functions as designed.
- Conduct inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Oversee the functional testing of all system components, including solar panels, inverters, monitoring systems, and electrical connections.
- Ensure that safety protocols are followed during commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and system performance.
- Ensure that all commissioning activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with safety officers to address any safety concerns promptly.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (solar energy, electrical engineering, etc.).
- Several years of experience in solar PV project commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical systems, and relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in the renewable energy industry.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Electrical Licence to work in Australia
