AddressMy Client is growing. With 25-years of industry experience, they have an opportunity for an experienced and self motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. The role will include a diverse portfolio of industrial application projects including HV, LV, control and protection systems.
About the Role:
- Produce self-sufficient engineering design and project documentation with minimal assistance from the technical director.
- Provide company representation at project meetings and accurately reflect discussions and technical solutions within the contract documents.
- The role will include continual bi-directional support and assistance from the technical director as required with a goal of providing each other ongoing professional development and knowledge
- Managing the development of and reviewing concept designs through to construction completion.
- Providing electrical engineering technical solutions and advice to the broader team
- Conducting technical analysis and feasibility studies to evaluate and optimize the electrical infrastructure design, including electrical layout, protection, switching, and monitoring systems.
- Developing and managing budgets, schedules, and project plans.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and standards related to electrical engineering and renewable energy systems.
- Conducting site inspections and audits to monitor the performance and safety of the electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Providing technical support and guidance to junior electrical engineers and technicians.
About you:
- Relevant engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the role involves significant client interaction.
- Minimum 10 years engineering design experience in heavy industry, material handling, mining, oil/gas or high voltage applications
- Demonstrated ability to complete detailed electrical design work (control schematics, SLD's, termination diagrams, specifications, scopes of work and related
- Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, which extend across all organisational and management levels.
- Exposure to and a broad understanding of various engineering disciplines.
- Able to use initiative in providing solutions to project-related tasks.
- An analytic mindset with the ability to identify and summarise complex topics in a structured and concise way.
- The ability to be client-facing and the capability to communicate complex technical subject matter to non-technical team members and clients.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant Australian Standards such as AS/NZS3000, AS2067, AS/NZS3008, AS/NZS2081, AS/NZS61439, SIR’s, etc.
- Strong preference for candidates with ability to transfer design direct to CAD
- Strong attention to detail and organisation, ability to prioritise and meet demanding deadlines.

- AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical

- Comms systems (IEC61850, Modbus, Eth/IP, etc.)
- MSProject + MSOffice Products
- The successful candidate shall be working out of their office with occasional site travel as required.
