About The Role:
This is a hands on, fast paced role suited to those who are at home across the spectrum of design, fabrication and field test work to see the designs implemented in working prototypes. The tasking is focused on electronics systems design and development, including circuit design, layout, PCB fabrication, cabling, power system design and electro-mechanical system development and control.
The successful candidate will undertake a broad range of electrical and electronics engineering tasks working closely with the firmware and mechanical teams on new robotic systems. You will see developments of key technologies through the full cycle of scoping, development, field testing and implementation stages.
Candidate Requirements:
Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Degree with outstanding academic results in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Ideally 4 years experience in a design role with a major focus on digital electronics however outstanding candidates with less experience will be considered.
- Experience with a broad range of electronics design for electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with power supply design
- Experience with multi-layer PCB design and fabrication
- Proficient with Altium Designer software suite
- Strong understanding of common electronics manufacturing processes and techniques
- Cable design and fabrication experience
- Highly capable communicator, both written and verbal. The ability to understand other perspectives, articulate and advocate complex ideas and to work effectively in a small team.
- A flexible and adaptive nature
- Ability to pass a set of technical screening tests as part of the review and selection process.
- Ability to meet the requirements for a Baseline security clearance
Desirable
- Experience developing marine and offshore systems
- Experience developing battery management systems for Lithium-ion batteries
