The Role
ELECTRO currently has opportunities for Electrical Network Design Engineer/Officers. In this role you will prepare designs and documentation for the extension to, or modification of electricity networks, including subdivisions and streetlighting.
Providing a professional service you will have strong interpersonal skills and be effective at building and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of clients and stakeholders as well as the Electro team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Undertake field investigations to a consistently comprehensive and highly accurate standard
- Design preparation in a timely, efficient manner and accurate standard, utilising AutoCad and engineering design software
- Consistent compliance with established quality systems and processes
The Electrical Network Design Engineer/Officer needs to be proficient in 2D drafting, or have the ability to quickly become proficient.
The Person
We are seeking a results driven professional with a strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail. You will need to be skilled at working with a range of project engineer/technical officers in a collaborative manner to meet project deadlines, budget and quality requirements.
Ideally you would have a background within a power utilities environment, however this is not essential. The desired level of qualifications, skills and experience required are:
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or substantial progression towards completion
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT
- Familiarity with powerline design applications such as poles and wires or similar
- Understanding of electrical power distribution systems
- Advanced written and spoken communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to self-manage your time and a portfolio of assignments.
