The Opportunity
WSP are seeking an experienced Electrician to come and join our Team in South Australia.
This fast paced and autonomous role will undertake a range of maintenance and minor project works across our Retail Service Station Contracts including but not limited to electrical signage such as MID/Price Boards, canopies and outside lighting works, fault finding and repairs and maintenance across multiple client portfolios. There will be requirements to complete switchboard inspections and other electrical work programmes.
The scope of the role will include, but not limited to the following:
- Display outstanding customer service skills in managing relationships with retail staff during maintenance works or inspections.
- Provide clear updates on all work orders, raise and identify any potential issues with certain maintenance tasks and timelines.
- Have a proactive and productive approach to completing tasks within designated time frames.
- Exhibit excellent attention to detail and a high level of initiative in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electrical installations.
- Install new equipment, modify existing equipment, and maintain control and distribution apparatus.
- Able to utilise a laptop and web-based programs for effective communication and documentation.
- Prioritise a safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to hazard reporting.
- Adhere to National Electrical Code, State, and local building regulations, including AS/NZS 3000:2018 Wiring Rules.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and obtain supplier pricing for quote submissions.
- Create safe work methodologies based on client specifications and control of work requirements.
- Complete documentation, including checklists, works verification, and submission of HSSE documents.
- Contribute positively to on-site project delivery with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adopt and promote a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) culture among on-site personnel and supporting contractors.
- Proactively review and maintain schedules, identifying long lead time supply items for early communication and escalation if needed. .
- Provide assistance to other personnel and service streams within WSP Services when needed.
- Approach challenges with a positive attitude and provide viable solutions.
- Manage breakdowns autonomously, showcasing a willingness to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills/experience:
- 2 + Years of industry experience.
- Strong safety focus and culture.
- Hold a valid Driver’s License.
- Have a White Card.
- WPCG Accreditation or Retail Service Station Experience an advantage
- Unwavering attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and customer service etiquette
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Willingness to travel and support various site projects in regional SA locations or interstate if required.
