About the Opportunity at Legrand
Working as a respected team member and reporting to the Lead Electronic Design Engineer, the Electronic Design Engineer is responsible for conducting comprehensive Engineering projects for Legrand according to Australian Standards.
Your responsibilities include:
- conducting design and analysis of electronic circuits
- PCB layout of electronic circuits
- assisting in developing a sound business case for products and our ranges
- conducting detailed design tasks in Altium (circuit design)
- preparing BOMs, drawings, product and material specifications, assembly procedures, QA/QC inspections and instruction manuals as required
- collating and distributing project documentation
- modifying design elements as required
- embedded firmware
- Product ranges extend across many disciplines, but key elements are: Wiring devices (socket outlets and light switches); Emergency Lighting Products; LED lighting; Light dimmers and Electrical accessories.
- assisting the project team to define the project scope; evaluate design brief, develop technical budget, customer/safety requirements and environmental approval specifications
- participating in project handover and providing QC and logistics instruction and training to the sales team
- liaising with Category Buyers to ensure (offshore) manufactured products and product ranges meet all specified requirements of time, cost and quality
- participating in project team meetings and project communications and managing project information through our procedures and systems
About you
- tertiary qualifications in Electrical (Electronic) engineering or related technical discipline
- electronic Circuit analysis especially in lighting and switch mode power supply designs
- embedded firmware design
- electronic component analysis and evaluation
- ability to facilitate change and process improvement
- good communication and reporting writing skills
- computer literate with well-developed MS Office skills
- understanding of quality control concepts and relevant standards
- capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings
- high level of integrity, good time management and organisation skills
- ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects and associated prioritization
- capable of working in a multi-discipline, multicultural team environment
- open to learn and share knowledge
- self-managed, well-motivated and capable to work unsupervised
