Job Purpose:

To assist the Electronics Development team by working on the definition, development and performance of test cases to comply with system and hardware requirements.

Starting at the system level requirements, you will be responsible for start to end verification activities for our safety rated control systems, including test case development, test procedure optimisation and infrastructure commissioning.

You will work closely with our hardware design engineering teams to supply, develop and maintain high-quality autonomous electric vehicles.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • An understanding of electric vehicle systems including battery management, BLDC & PMSM motor drivers, high reliability Vehicle Control Units [VCUs], telematics, communications via network standards and CAN Bus.
  • Experience testing mixed signal electronic systems combining embedded microcontrollers, analog, digital and power driver IC’s, communications and battery management.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an engineering test & verification environment including testing to ISO, SAE or government regulatory and industry standards.
  • Experience with ISO26262, IEC61508, ISO16750, and/or ISO9001 in a testing environment.
  • Diligence in hardware board level and module level testing and validation.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer schematic and PCB layout software.
  • Skilled in Matlab/Simulink, Labview or equivalent, with a focus toward test automation.
  • Knowledge in data acquisition equipment and software tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing development in industry.
  • A passionate interest in electric transport/mobility and an interest in developing new generations of electric mobility solutions.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Other Skills and Experience:

Candidates with the following additional skills and experience will be well regarded:

  • Knowledge of real time embedded firmware development in C / C++.
  • Cross functional knowledge across the disciplines of mechatronics, electronics and software.
  • Capable of mentoring junior engineers in the testing domain.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite, JIRA and any other documentation tools.
