Join a new and Innovative Federal Government department as a Treasury Manager, where you'll spearhead our treasury and banking functions, shaping Australia's financial landscape.The Role:As our Treasury Manager, you'll report directly to the Director of Financial Reporting and Treasury, overseeing crucial treasury and banking functions for the department. Your responsibilities will include managing payment runs, bank accounts, reconciliations, revenue receipting, and taxation affairs.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising and managing the Treasury unit's day-to-day operations.
- Leading the department's appropriation management function and cash forecasting.
- Providing high-level specialist advice on treasury, revenue, tax, and reconciliation issues.
- Promoting continuous improvement of team processes and compliance with legislation and policies.
- Identifying system improvements and liaising with relevant stakeholders for implementation.
- Sound knowledge of PGPA and the Government's Financial Management Framework.
- Good working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Recognized tertiary and/or professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CA, or IPA membership).
- A minimum of 4 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in a government or large commercial environment.
- Well-developed financial accounting skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in accounting and relevant areas.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated capability to build productive stakeholder relationships
