Embedded Software Engineer

The Role 

We’re hiring an experienced Software Engineer to join our GNC & Software team. In this role you will perform analysis and testing of flight control software for a hypersonic flight vehicle. You will also work with the broader team of aerospace and avionics engineers and technicians to develop hardware-in-the-loop simulations of a hypersonic flight vehicle.

As a level II Engineer you will be expected to deliver results on complex engineering tasks with little oversight and supervision, and act as a mentor to junior engineers where appropriate.

We are looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude who will fit into a team that are solving complex engineering challenges every day.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

• Conduct flight control computer testing and perform verification from test data.
• Performing modelling and simulation of hypersonic flight vehicle avionics.
• Performing analysis and verification of avionics systems for hypersonic vehicles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers to ensure the successful design and testing of hypersonic vehicles.
• Work under the direction of the Lead GNC Engineer and manage sub-contracted work as required

The Person

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software design and verification.
• Understanding of hardware communication protocols including Serial, CAN and ethernet.
• Extensive experience with C and C++ programming languages.
• Experience working with and developing real-time software.
• Familiarity with systems engineering processes, developing integration and test procedures, and performing both software and system testing.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to put in extra effort to deliver amazing results.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Supplementary requirements include:

• Driver's License, preferred. 
• Australian National Police clearance check
