Overview
Exciting opportunity for Emergency Consultants to ensure that Wallaroo Hospital is delivering high quality, safe and sustainable emergency services to residents of the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN).
The Head of Unit helps to coordinate the delivery of emergency services to patients within Wallaroo Hospital in conjunction with the YNLHN Executive team.
Working with limited or no direction or supervision, the Emergency Consultants will exercise a high degree of professional judgement and clinical competence in a multi-disciplinary setting and be responsible for the overall smooth day to day management of the clinical floor. They will be responding to hospital MET/Code Blue/Code Black calls as required by allocation on shift and provide supervision, training and direction to more junior staff as required. They will also be participating in teaching and quality assurance activities, and undertake health promotion and community education activities Involved in Continuous Quality Improvement activities
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent with appropriate Specialist Qualifications FACEM, FACRRM or FRACGP and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
