About the opportunityThe
Emergency Management and Program Lead will lead the University with all hazard approach to
Emergency Management and will ensure governance and ongoing improvement of the universities capacity to respond to disruptive events. The
Emergency Management and Program lead will lead and develop the planning, preparation and response to incidents and emergencies ensuring strong governance occurs, maintaining accurate incident response plans and supporting materials. The incumbent will ensure ongoing maturity and continuous improvement of
Emergency Management through detailed understanding of
Emergency Management principles and collaborative stakeholder management.
Your key responsibilities will be to:- lead the planning and implementation of projects and initiatives to uplift the university capability to prepare for and respond to emergencies
- adopt an all-hazards approach to Emergency Management you will work across the University to enhance the overall University planning and preparation for emergency and disaster events
- conduct regular reviews of the University Emergency Response arrangements to ensure they remain up to date, meeting the University changing context and operating environment
- actively promote and pursue collaboration across portfolios and business areas to encourage teamwork within and build cross functional capability
- deliver emergency exercises to ensure cross collaboration occurs between professional units and faculties and schools to uplift Emergency Management awareness and capability, conduct post event debriefing and maintenance of relevant documents.
About you- extensive experience in Emergency Management, business continuity and operational risk
- knowledge in incident, emergency and crisis management foundations and the ability to develop and deliver tailored programs of awareness and exercises
- experience establishing, monitoring and reviewing administrative procedures as well as financial management experience, including budget management
- proficiency in project management tools and methodology, including use of microsoft suite (SharePoint)
- the ability to communicate effectively with the critical thinking and decision making skills.
