About Angliss Emergency Department
Angliss Hospital has permanent employment opportunities for passionate, enthusiastic and flexible nurses who would like to work in the Emergency Department and/or the Short Stay Unit. Nestled in the valley below the Dandenong Ranges the facility has retained that community hospital culture whilst providing high level evidenced based acute care. Angliss Emergency Department cares for around 130 presentations a day, 25% are paediatric patients. We support the hospital in caring for any deteriorating patient on site and work alongside a large obstetric/maternity unit. Entry to EDLearning Program
You will undertake a 12-week supported Learning Program that is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to work in the ED setting. This permanent (full or part-time) position will see you flourish and provide you with the opportunity to progress to specialised transition to practise programs (TSP) including Post Graduate studies in Emergency Nursing Care.
You will be well supported by the ED Learning & Teaching team along with the Senior Emergency Department Nursing leaders.
Education on the following topics will be covered during the 12-week program; Adult and Paediatric Patient Assessment, Trauma, Mental Health, ECG Interpretation, IV Cannulation and much more!
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Paediatric experience is not essential
