Encounter Bay, frequented by southern right whales, offers stunning offshore views, while the Heysen Trail beckons outdoor enthusiasts to explore the natural beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula all the way to Cape Jervis.Does this sound like the perfect opportunity for you and your family?OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Emergency Department (ED) Team at Southern Fleurieu Health Service as a Trainee Medical Officer or Senior Medical Practitioner.The ED provides urgent/MET support to the inpatient unit. As an Emergency Doctor, you will have the opportunity to experience the full gamut of Emergency Medicine presentations and management techniques. You will be supported in procedural sedation, airway management and ventilation, fracture reduction, complex laceration repair and invasive diagnostic techniques, amongst others. Research, mentorship, and learning opportunities abound. There is regular weekly training sessions for TMOs.There will be opportunities for suitable doctors to spend 20 per cent of their time in one of the following specialties:

• Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Anaesthetics
• Orthopaedics Fracture Clinics
• General Paediatrics
• Geriatrics
• General Medicine

Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This will be supported by some Emergency Department experience in a clinical capacity, along with some paediatric patient management experience. Demonstrating competency in a range of routine and common emergency procedural skills, you will bring the ability to work under pressure without compromising patient care. You will work well within a multidisciplinary team setting and be skilled in problem-solving and decision-making at both the clinical and the individual level.Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.Check(s)
