About the Role
The mission of the Emergency Rescue Helicopter Service is to save lives and support all-hazards emergency operations 24/7 by rapidly deploying and inserting the rescue capabilities of the aircraft and personnel directly to an incident scene. The Emergency Rescue Helicopter Service Coordinator is a vital team member in supporting the State’s only all-hours, year-round rescue aeromedical helicopter fleet.
This position within the Aviation Services Branch has an important role undertaking program analysis and governance reporting to the Manager Emergency Rescue Helicopter Service (ERHS).
The successful person will be someone who excels in:
- contract administration, facilities management, project, and financial accounting,
- managing stakeholder relations,
- working well within a small team and is confident managing and delivering on agreed outcomes.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
The role would job share, and work the monthly schedule of:
- Week 1 – two (2) days (Tuesday and Friday)
- Week 2 – three (3) days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)
- Week 3 – two (2) days (Tuesday and Friday)
- Week 4 – three (3) days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)
This position is located at Jandakot Airport, with frequent work in the Perth CBD, Cockburn Central and regional Rescue Helicopter Base/s (Bunbury), and be willing to travel to engage with Perth metropolitan and regionally based stakeholders.
Successful applicants:
- Must hold and maintain a current driver’s license throughout employment.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a current Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) clearance to work in an airport environment.
- May be subject to CASR Part 99 – Drug and Alcohol Management Plans and Testing covering persons involved in sensitive aviation activities.
- May participate in an on-call roster.
