- Provide stakeholders with Emergency Services, medical advice, and assistance.
- Coordinate and execute Emergency Services and emergency response capability for the mine operations.
- Be available 24/7 to respond to and control emergency incidents on/off site, with a well-defined Emergency Response Team (ERT) call-out system in place.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, review, and facilitation of all aspects of emergency response systems on site.
- Maintain and ensure the readiness of all emergency response equipment.
- Organize and conduct internal and external audits and inspections, and maintain accurate records on inspection and the completion of action items from the audits and inspections.
- Assist in the development and delivery of ERT training as directed by the HSET Manager and in line with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act.
- Monitor the number of on-site ERT trained personnel to comply with RSHQ requirements.
- Provide first aid and Industrial Medic services when required.
- Maintain a drug register in accordance with Poisons permit and QLD Health Acts.
- Administer S4 & S8 substances as required by company protocols and relevant Acts and Regulations.
- Manage Medical Centre supplies and ensure strict compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
- Support health promotion initiatives.
- Cultivate a working relationship with line managers to equip them with knowledge, resources, advice, and support in delivering a consistent safety message.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a similar role within the mining industry.
- Proven experience in responding to underground emergencies.
- At least a Certificate IV in Health Care
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety – Fire and Emergency
- BG4 Certification – Underground Search and Rescue
- Qualification in Drug and Alcohol Testing
- Australian Driver’s License – MR or HR
Desirable
- Certificate III in Paramedical Science or equivalent
- Certificate III in Chemical Operations or equivalent qualification, demonstrating familiarity with safe handling and storage of hazardous chemicals.
- Advanced First Aid and CPR Certification
- Working Safely at Heights and Confined Space Entry Training
- Proficiency in using AEDs and other medical equipment.
- AIIMS 2017 Principles: Basic orientation to AIIMS and its applications.
