The Opportunity

Do you have experience in Employee Relations or in a Human Resources environment? Are you looking for an opportunity to provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on a range of workplace issues? If so, we have an exciting role for you as an Employee Relations Consultant.

As an Employee Relations consultant, you will be responsible for:

·        Assisting with the management of formal cases on behalf of DoT (for example bullying, harassment and discrimination claims, substandard performance, and breaches of discipline).

·        Undertaking initial assessment and coaching DoT Managers on a variety of workplace issues.

·        Undertaking some internal investigations for suspected breaches of discipline matters of low to moderate complexity.

·        Contributing to the management of case data and effectively reporting to relevant regulatory bodies.

There is currently one permanent position available.

You will have:

  • The ability to provide advice on relevant employment awards, agreements, policy and interpret legislation. 
  • Experience providing advice and coaching to managers on workplace matters.
  • The skills to write correspondence confidently and succinctly.
  • A calm and pragmatic approach to issues with empathy and good judgement.
  • A genuine commitment to personal integrity and self-awareness.
  • Experience having difficult conversations.
  • Initiative and a genuine commitment to do ‘whatever needs to be done’.
