This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00943). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).
There are currently three (3) positions available.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position provides a high-level consultancy service to the Agency and assists with broad and/or complex Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) people management issues. Provides ER/IR specialist support, coaching and advice to senior management on issues including performance management, substandard performance, interpersonal and workplace conflict, addressing inappropriate workplace behaviour, compliance with employee and industrial relations policy and standards and related legislative advice.
Undertakes complex people management projects, conducts comprehensive analysis and evaluation of ER trends and the efficiency and effectiveness of these activities.
Contributes to the broad oversight role held by the Employee Relations Division (ERD) in ensuring consistency in ER and IR advisory and support service delivery.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Please ensure you complete, sign and scan the Integrity Check Consent Form (refer attached) and submit it along with your application (the Integrity Check Consent Form is not required for current WA Police Force employees).
Applicants are not required to address the work related requirements at this stage of the selection process.
Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
It is important to note that your CV should be tailored to clearly outline that you possess transferrable skills and experience relevant to the advertised role. Your ability to demonstrate this will be a key factor in determining whether you are competitive.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS
In addition to the above mentioned vacancies, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.
Where an applicant in the POOL declines an opportunity (either permanent or temporary), that applicant may forfeit their right to be considered before other suitable applicants who were identified to be less competitive.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
