About the opportunityAs the Employee Relations Manager, Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Southern Cross University adheres to its pay-related obligations under the Australian Workplace Relations Framework, Enterprise Agreement, and relevant Modern Awards.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of compliance strategies.
- Design and conduct audits of current employment obligations and payroll practices to identify potential risk areas.
- Lead corrective actions to ensure alignment with legal and organisational standards.
We are searching for a compliance expert who recognises that trust is built through action. With a deep understanding of Australian workplace instruments and payroll practices, you enjoy designing and implementing compliance strategies.
Your track record includes leading compliance projects, designing and conducting audits, and managing effective remediation projects.
In addition, you will possess:
- Experience interpreting obligations in contracts and industrial instruments and integrating them with payroll systems and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills, with the capability to apply judgment and make decisions based on a nuanced understanding of regulatory requirements and organisational contexts.
- A confidence to exercise judgment in the application of complex industrial instruments including scenarios that require a deep level of comprehension or the integration of multiple provisions.

We are offering a full-time or part-time permanent position based at Gold Coast or Northern Rivers campus. Generous relocation support is available for the preferred candidate relocating to one of our regions.
The base salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
