As an Employment Consultant you will be passionate about helping injured or ill people return to work. You will ideally have experience as an Employment Consultant in occupational rehabilitation. However, we are also open to people with experience in customer service, hospitality, administration, recruitment or human resources. A part-time or full-time role is available, with work from home opportunities available. Some flexibility in hours is also available for you to meet caring responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping individuals achieve their employment goals, staying abreast of the latest job-seeking trends, and providing holistic support for broader self-employment and income generation strategies. This role requires a creative approach to problem-solving. Building relationships comes second nature to you and you are adept at finding those bridges between differing objectives and motivations. Most importantly, you like people and enjoy working with and for people!
Responsibilities
Conducting assessments of injured workers’ or medically retired professionals’ skills, experiences, and career aspirations.
Completing job seeking and self-employment training and coaching.
Preparing resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters and selection criteria responses.
Assisting injured workers and medically retired professionals in searching for jobs and preparing for interviews.
Staying current with the latest job-seeking trends, tools, and technologies as well as self-employment and income generation platforms.
Assisting medically retired professionals in exploring self-employment opportunities such as gig economy roles and developing small business ideas.
Offering resources and support for obtaining certifications and licenses.
Identifying and creating job opportunities for injured workers and medically retired professionals through proactive employer engagement.
Collaborating with the Rehabilitation Consultant team to ensure a holistic approach to support.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of communication, progress, and outcomes.
Conducting labour market research and preparing reports.
Providing reports and updates to clients including insurers and employers.
Meeting key performance indicators and quality metrics.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree qualifications advantageous
Experience
· Strong people and relationship development skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate clients.
· Accurate report writing skills with the ability to convey information clearly.
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritise work and multi-task.
· Advanced customer service skills.
· Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming employment barriers.
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team and provide support to others.
· Understanding of contemporary job-seeking trends, tools, and strategies.
· Knowledge of self-employment and income generation strategies advantageous.
· Experience meeting Key Performance Indicators advantageous.
· Experience working in the occupational rehabilitation industry advantageous.
