We have a vacancy for a part-time (3 days per week) Employment Services Officer, working in our Employment Services team at our Victor Harbor office.
Working as part of a small collaborative team, through effective delivery of service and support, this position will assist people living with disability to improve their work readiness.
Duties include:
- Helping DES jobseekers identify their skills and abilities.
- Creating a clear pathway to employment for jobseekers through personal Job Plans.
- Building relationships with employers to identify and create employment opportunities.
- Conduct reverse marketing activities focused on finding job opportunities that are a match to jobseekers’ skills and abilities.
- Increasing jobseekers’ capacity for employment (through training, referral to counselling or other support services, coaching in job search skills).
- Providing thorough Post Placement Support to employers and jobseekers.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience working in disability (or equivalent training).
- Current, or the ability to obtain, a NDIS Worker Check, a Working with Children Check and a National Police Clearance.
- Willingness to understand and agree with our ICARE values.
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Employment Services.
- Demonstrated experience in Employment Services with an enhanced working knowledge of strategies to address barriers to employment.
- Case management experience within employment, community or rehabilitation services is highly desirable.
- Effective communication with the ability to build strong relationships with jobseekers, employers, peers and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated personal integrity, professionalism and empathy towards people living with disabilities.
- Competent with MS Office Word and Excel and the use of electronic information systems.
- COVID vaccination plus booster.
