SCHN is a leading site for digital innovation in NSW Health. This role within the SCHN eMR Unit will also have a formal minor secondment to SCHN Pharmacy to support and develop Pharmacy automation and electronic medication systems integration across the Network including Robotics.

What you'll be doing

The eMR Application ManagerPaediatric Pharmacy is a key member of the eMR Unit. The Unit provides expert knowledge and support to users of clinical applications and ensures that all SCHN eMR Applications and Interfaces are fit for purpose and continuously improved to fulfil SCHN and NSW Health clinical and business requirements. 
The key responsibilities of the eMR Paediatric Pharmacy team includes but not limited to:
  • Provide expert knowledge and support to stakeholders of Pharmacy Application solutions.
  • Ongoing level 2 support management and maintenance of SCHN Pharmacy Application solutions.
  • Enhancements, upgrade, optimisation and development of Pharmacy Application solutions.
  • Pharmacy Application testing
Whilst this role is Monday to Friday, during downtimes or upgrades some afterhours or weekend support may be required which occur several times per year. This position can be based either at Westmead or Randwick campuses, however there is a requirement to work from the alternate campus and other SCHN facilities from time to time
  1. Relevant tertiary qualification and registration and extensive experience in Health pharmacy environments with extensive knowledge of healthcare workflows including medication management
  2. Hospital pharmacy experience in paediatrics with a good working knowledge of the Cerner electronic medicines management system
  3. Detailed knowledge and experience with key Pharmacy processes including their relationship to other patient care workflows within the Australian public hospital setting
  4. Demonstrated experience in providing Cerner application support and an understanding of application support methodologies including the development of documentation, policies and procedures, test scripts and scenarios
  5. Demonstrated ability to analyse, troubleshoot, solve problems, establish priorities effectively and liaison with internal and external parties to resolve issues
  6. Demonstrated experience in working with internal and external stakeholders to determine, design, configure, test and implement Pharmacy Application solutions
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to engage effectively with administration, clinical and information management staff and to resolve conflict when required
  8. Demonstrated ability to work as an individual as well as harmoniously within a team, sharing information and responsibilities
