About Direct Endoscopy
Direct Endoscopy is one of the largest providers of endoscopy services in Victoria with five Day Hospitals in the Melbourne metropolitan area. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our dynamic team, delivering high quality medical services to patients. We are seeking confident and dynamic Enrolled Nurses and CSSD/Endoscopy Technicians for casual positions within our Frankston, Bayswater and Rosebud sites.
ABOUT THE ROLE
A number of casual positions are available for our Frankston, Bayswater and Rosebud sites.
As the Endoscopy Nurse/Technician, your duties may include:
- Working with the nursing team to assist in the delivery of care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, in line with your scope of practice
- Collecting contaminated equipment in a safe, protected transport system
- Reprocessing of endoscopes using Automated Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors (AFERs)
- Documenting drying and storage of endoscopes appropriately
- Perform micro testing of scopes and automated endoscope reprocessors in accordance to GENCA standards
Essential Criteria
- Recent relevant experience in the area of CSSD/ Endoscopy Services
- Experience with handling endoscopes and operating and oversight of AFERs
- Having a CSSD Certificate III in Sterilisation Services would be seen as a distinct advantage
- Flexibility in available work hours – Monday to Friday – AM shifts only
- Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a specialised multidisciplinary team and in a team environment
- Committed to creating a positive work culture and providing a ‘can do’ approach to tasks
- Commitment to quality improvement and excellence in the delivery of healthcare services
- Must provide current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Must provide proof of current health vaccinations, fulfilling requirements according to the Victorian Government Category A Healthcare worker vaccination requirements
- Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency
