About the role
Our Engagement and Insights Officer will provide valued administrative and project support to the Engagement and Insight team and the broader Public Affairs department. As the Engagement and Insights Officer you will assist in ensuring our community feels informed, engaged, and represented and support Council’s transparent and informed decision making.

Through your administration experience, you will coordinate bookings, activities and ticketing for Council’s community engagement programs, along with administering membership databases, online engagement platforms, reporting platforms and email correspondence.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the creation of Engagement and reporting content, ensuring it complies with Council style and branding requirements.
  • Liaising with Council staff to support community engagement activities.
  • Identifying and escalating potential risks arising from community engagement activities or events.
  • Attending community engagement events and Council ceremonies as required.
  • Providing general support across the Public Affairs department.


About you
You enjoy contributing to team success and driving a collaborative work environment. You have a great attention to detail with strong administration and customer service skills. The key elements to be successful is that you strive to deliver great customer service, are hardworking, solutions oriented, and want to help continue to build connection and trust with the community.

The following is also required:

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, engagement, project management, public relations or similar OR lesser formal qualification with relevant experience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver projects to deadline.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, committed, innovative and pro-active attitude.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours.
