We are well positioned, with our campuses located in Mildura and Swan Hill, to orchestrate the continued delivery of excellent education and training in this region. We have experienced trainers, teachers and community providers offering qualification across a range of courses and customised skill set training covering multiple sectors relevant to the community and stakeholders.
The Engagement and Retention Officer acts as the first point of contact for all clients at SuniTAFE’s Skills & Jobs Centre. The role provides preliminary information as well as a referral service based on assessment of client needs. The incumbent will perform general administrative support for the Skills and Jobs Centre including administering relevant student testing, making and following up appointments, reporting on performance data as well as working closely with other customer service operations as required. The incumbent actively promotes and communicates access to Institute services that support the student experience and ensure early intervention where there is the possibility of course withdrawal. The incumbent will be responsible for; identifying early signs of disEngagement and, ensuring responsive actions are taken. They will provide detailed reporting of withdrawal data and monitoring student attendance and assist teaching staff to ensure early intervention if at risk students. This position will also l be required to coordinate and attend events within the community/industry and at secondary schools, to provide information and guidance to potential students whilst representing SuniTAFE in a professional manner.
Key selection criteria
• Certificate IV level qualification in Career Development and/or a willingness to obtain or suitable combination of lesser qualification and significate relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with a diverse cohort of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the VET sector and SuniTAFE policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prepare written reports, case studies and analyse data.
• Demonstrated customer service focus with the ability to take initiative to resolve problems and issues within bounds of delegated authority.
The successful candidate will be required to provide:
• A successful criminal record check which is less than 6 months old; and
• A working with children check.
