Avionics Hardware Engineer

The opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Avionics Hardware Engineer to join our Richmond based team in a permanent full-time opportunity. In this role you will be responsible for providing Avionics design and Systems Engineering support within the Avionics Hardware Capability Design Team that focuses on new, multidiscipline, complex projects within Systems, Software and Avionics. Reporting to the Avionics Hardware Capability Design Lead you develop and deliver design solutions, across multiple aircraft platforms, using a systems engineering design philosophy.
Specifically this will include;
- Capture and Elaboration of Customer Requirements
- Avionic System Detailed Design
- Requirement Verification and Validation
- Production of Certification Evidence
- Development of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness to support the design
- Maintaining data files, engineering records and electronic databases as required to accurately report and record engineering decisions
- Actively participate in the improvement of the Engineering Management System
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to live the Airbus Values, work with passion and determination, able to work to tight deadlines in an environment of continuous improvement. The skills and experience suited to this role:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Avionics, Electronics or compatible discipline from nationally accredited program or equivalent
- Typically 5+ years' professional experience working in relevant engineering field as a practicing design engineer in the aviation industry
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, CAANZ, CASA, etc.), standards and best practices in all aspects of their field of expertise
- Knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle and processes appropriate to delivering complex capability, ideally within a defence environment, would be highly desirable
- Ability to self-direct task management in a high workload environment; ability to work effectively with employees from other domains
- Ability and willingness to engage in investigation of technical issues, development and review of technical documents
