About the job
Be a contributing member in the areas of Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls within the Corporation by providing technical support to the Electrical Engineering team, delivering fit-for-purpose technical investigation, designs, audits, and technical advisory services related to all aspects of water and wastewater infrastructure and standards.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Progressing technical investigations, designs, and audits of SA Water assets and projects to meet quality, time, and budget objectives.
- Providing technical leadership on Safety in Design (SiD) matters for the Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls discipline team.
- Ensuring the SA Water Safety in Design process is incorporated into engineering design processes.
- Providing timely, accurate, appropriate, and adequate information and documentation to customers, focusing on minimising delays and providing cost-effective solutions.
- Working effectively within the Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls discipline engineering team and across multi-disciplinary teams from our technical partners.
- Contributing to the development of SA Water’s technical standards for Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls discipline components.
- Determining the suitability of new and emerging technologies and recommending their adoption where benefits are identified.
- Conducting site audits to ensure compliance and relevance of technical standards and guidelines.
Your success in this role will come from:
- Tertiary Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, or Controls Engineering qualification.
- Knowledge of Electrical engineering first principles, procedures, and practices.
- Affiliation and recognition of discipline expertise by Engineers Australia (desirable).
- Knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls engineering procedures and practices as applied to the water industry and large engineering organisations (desirable).
- Awareness in the provision of investigation, options, concept, and detailed design of Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls discipline installations associated with the water industry at a high professional level and auditing of designs prepared by others (desirable).
- Appreciation for executing novel, complex, and critical engineering investigations, and designs in Electrical, Instrumentation, SCADA, and Controls discipline engineering (desirable).
- Experience in the utilisation and auditing of technical and infrastructure standards (desirable).
