About the Role

 

The mission of ANZ’s Network Protection Squad is to keep the bank safe by securing to cover Network Security, ensuring that the managed platforms we service are uplifted to meet the bank's current needs and defend the ANZ from Cyber Threats with protective, detection and responsive capabilities.

 

Key activities that support this mission

 

As an Engineer in the Network Protection Squad, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting Network Security solutions and/or our underlying bank infrastructure.  You will be working closely with members of a multi-disciplinary squad operating from Melbourne and Manila to ensure outcomes exceed our customers’ expectations

What will your day look like?


As an Engineer, you are also responsible for the following but not limited to:

 

  • Designing, implementing, and managing security controls to protect the organization's networks, systems, and data.
  • Developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Monitoring security logs and alerts to detect and responding to security incidents from Stakeholder/s in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate security practices into the development lifecycle of software and systems.
  • Leading incident response activities, including investigating security breaches, analysing root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Staying up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior members of the security team.

  • Troubleshooting - Takes part in troubleshooting for service recovery. Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management.
  • Application Level & Solution Design / Architecture - Adopts a vision and plan for application level solution design and architecture for the platform.

 

Role Location: MDC 100 Building, Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City

Shift Schedule: Normal business hours and on-call support.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • A degree in Information Security or Computer Science or Cyber Security or Information Technology.
  • Proven experience working in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on security operations, networks management, incident management, stakeholder and vendor management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security architectures, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience with security tools such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, antivirus software, Deception Technology, Remote Browsing Isolation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring security solutions (e.g. Palo Alto, FireEye, Network Security, etc.)
  • Experience working with Network Security products such as PAN Firewalls, FireEye FX, NX, Detection on Demand, Mandiant SIP, etc.. 
  • Experience deploying, updating and maintaining Network Security products such as PAN Firewalls, FireEye FX, NX, Detection on Demand, Mandiant SIP, etc.. 
  • Working knowledge on virtualization environment (HyperV & ESX)
  • Working knowledge of Network technologies such as routing, switching, firewalls etc.
  • Functional understanding of scripting languages (Batch, PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, etc.)
  • Exposure to CI/CD tooling such as Git/GitHub, Bamboo/Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Confluence, Jira, Splunk, Ansible, etc
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
