About the role
At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and to achieve this, we need a Network Solution Engineer to join our NEW Solution Engineering Squad in ANZ’s Network Services Tribe and Infrastructure and Cloud Services Domain, where you will be part of a highly performing cross-functional team focused on the development of service and solution designs, supporting, and enabling the delivery of business outcomes through effective and efficient solution design.
As a Network Solution Engineer, you will:
understand and discuss business / organisational requirements with the customer, challenging and clarifying when appropriate,
develop high / low-level designs and implementation plans, provide estimations on delivery and implementation effort,
be encouraged to pursue hands-on engineering and infrastructure development opportunities,
help shape how Solution Engineering, and Network Services delivers on its commitment to provide great customer and technical service through technology innovation,
provide inspiration and a sense of purpose to others, encouraging personal and professional development,
leverage past experience & knowledge of technologies and technology environments to hold credible, insightful discussions on the use of specific technologies,
develop and maintain platform roadmaps, patterns, and standards, and most of all, be part of a high performing team
What will your day look like
Providing consultation, technical leadership, and support to ANZ Technology and Business Domains
Supporting customers in capturing requirements, evaluating, and presenting solution options
Developing detailed solution designs to realise customer outcomes
Leading and mentoring engineers with your focus on design and engineering techniques, to design and implement secure, simple, and impactful solutions
Working at a senior level across programme and platform initiatives, collaborating with architects, design, delivery, and operations engineers to solve technology issues and make technology decisions
Exploring and exploiting new technologies and capabilities through hands-on engineering and infrastructure development to solve problems efficiently
Facilitating rapid technical decision making
Preparing and maintaining platform roadmaps, patterns, and standards
What will you bring?
Solid understanding of Networking Concepts and supporting Knowledge
Minimum relevant experience of 7+ Years in a customer facing environment.
Minimum 12 months of experience in a similar role / consulting role
Proven experience in the following:
Cisco networking infrastructure (inc. VxLAN EVPN, MPLS, LAN, WAN, SDWAN)
Private/Public Cloud Migration design (AWS, GCP, VMC, VCF, NSX-T)
Radware Server Load Balancing / Reverse Proxy infrastructure
Network Security (firewalls (Palo Alto & Checkpoint) and other policy enforcement devices)
WAN Optimisation Devices (Riverbed Steelhead)
Routing technologies (OSPF, BGP etc)
Traffic management technologies (local balancing, prioritisation etc)
Data Centre & Internet Gateway network solution design
Enterprise network solution design
Enterprise Scale Network Management systems & automation
Experience in enterprise level Service desk and Operational management tools and ITIL experience
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
