Primary Job Purpose: As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure the plant and equipment are maintained at optimal operational readiness. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direction, coordination, and execution of specific engineering activities in alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals. By maintaining facility and equipment safety, operational readiness, and compliance with regulatory standards, you will safeguard product quality, legality, and the safety of our personnel.
Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will oversee the creation and implementation of efficient preventative maintenance programs, manage budgets, and lead change initiatives to minimize disruptions to core activities. You will conduct safety and food safety risk assessments, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate with General Managers and engineering teams to ensure objectives are met. Additionally, you will actively participate in plant operational planning, continually evaluating new technologies to keep us at the forefront of bakery innovation.
People and Relationships: Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships throughout the organization will be crucial, along with overseeing the development and evaluation of the Engineering Teams. You will provide strong leadership, identify performance risks, and address issues in line with our core values. Managing contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety programs, and facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders will also be key responsibilities.
Requirments
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in large-scale baking or related food industries
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering/maintenance management
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive cultural change and continuous improvement
- Flexibility with work schedules, including after-hours availability
- Performance measured against metrics such as WHS, QA, operational KPIs, financial budgets, and team development
