The Company
Our client is a market leader in their industry, delivering innovative fresh bread products to the retail, food service, grocery, and convenience market.  Due to continued growth and development we are seeking an experienced engineering leader to join the organisation. 

The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the successful Engineering Manager will:be responsible for planning and directing the engineering lifecycle from concept to implementation and maintenance. It plays a crucial role in ensuring the company achieves optimal production output, zero unplanned maintenance and meets the highest possible product quality, and food safety standards to comply with all external/customer certifications and applicable legislative requirements.

It is an exciting role in which a period of continuous improvement will be followed by capex growth projects as the business aims to secure and improve on its market position as a category leader. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Management of the maintenance and electrical team to deliver best possible performance and ongoing skills development
• Cross functional collaboration with Production Team and other management as required
• Manage maintenance teams, equipment and resources to optimise productivity
• Develop and implement engineering project plans
• Innovatively develop engineering solutions with short and medium term benefits
• Work across the organisation to ensure new projects and planned maintenance meet scope and budget requirements while facilitating optimal ongoing production and quality
• Provide technical guidance and resource planning on all engineering projects and activities
• Identify, plan and implement solutions for improved processes. 
• Adherence to all quality, safety, food safety and compliance requirements of the role and all those affected by it.

The Engineering Manager
The successful Engineering Manager will bring to the role:

• Graduate qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering and a thorough understanding of all engineering project and maintenance requirements
• A minimum of five years experience in a similar role, preferably in food production
• Strong people management and leadership capabilities
• The capacity to conceive and deliver complex projects on time
• Extensive working knowledge of food quality and safety systems and standards 
• A solutions oriented, collaborative and commercial approach to the role
• A passion for continuous improvement
• High levels of computer literacy with a working knowledge of MEX or other CMMS highly regarded
