Engineering Manager
We are searching for an experienced leader to join our team at our Melbourne Airport facility. This role will provide overall Part 21 engineering leadership and management with respect to resource management, customer service and process improvements, with a strong focus on delivering excellence of the Part 21 technical and specialist activities.
To be successful in this role you will develop and execute project and process plans to maximise productivity and ensure safety, security, environmental and regulatory compliance for the MRO business.
Snapshot of the role:
- Lead and Manage the Statement of Work (SOW) processes from research and development, execution to complete the work statement and verification of deliverables.
- Plan, identify and coordinate resources required over the life of the project or program and establish and monitor performance metrics.
- Provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
- Manage risks, opportunities and changes and communicate with business unit, suppliers, customers and other stakeholder to ensure effective integration and execution of plan.
- Track progress to cost, schedule and technical performance by using established best practice metrics such as earned value and technical performance measure (TPM).
- Develop proposals and lead project execution and establish appropriate metrics.
- Assess and respond to changes to statement of work and assess the impact of changes to existing requirements, technical feasibility, schedules and costs. Develop recommendations, determine acceptance or rejection of changes for services, products, and other deliverables.
- Assess and respond to technical, cost and schedule risks and opportunities. Define plans for known risk mitigation.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (desirable)
- Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (structural components and Part 21) experience essential
- Sound understanding of the following regulations as applying to maintenance:
CASA, FAA, EASA, DASA Technical Airworthiness Regulations
- Equipment modification programs knowledge
- Retrofit/Repair modification and maintenance
- Extensive exposure to customer and supplier interaction at a senior level.
- PC literate (with proficiency in Microsoft Suite) with experience in formulating and preparing reports/statistical analysis.
