gforce Employment + Recruitment currently has an excellent opportunity for an individual to undertake a Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship or 2nd year looking for a change with a fantastic host employer in the Dandenong region. As an apprentice you will be required to learn the trade under the direction of skilled tradespeople while working as part of a team.We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about completing an Apprenticeship, thrive in structured work processes and have a drive to succeed.The RoleDuties will include but are not limited to:Repair and overhaul of passenger rail and industry productsOperating Lathes and Mills to shape rail componentsWork safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineeringUse power tools/hand toolsParticipate in environmentally sustainable work practicesDismantle, replace and assemble engineering componentsAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:A current driver's license would be of benefitLogical and methodical thinker with a genuine interest in Engineering systemsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a teamA drive to succeed and learn all aspects of the trade.Mechanical aptitude What to expect:You will be required to work a 38-hour week (including TAFE training) 7:00am - 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday - Friday 7:00 am to 1:30 pm and be willing to work overtime when required.As an apprentice or trainee of gforce you will be a valued member of our friendly and supportive staff, while receiving award wages and on-the-job training.
