On a regular basis, you’ll perform many of the following:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end development of React, PHP using Laravel Framework and Python based projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and project managers, to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, ensuring their professional growth and adherence to coding standards.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security.
- In the short term, while we shift our tech stack off WordPress, you may be required to implement and customize WordPress themes and plugins, leveraging your knowledge of PHP, WordPress architecture, and APIs.
- Optimize website performance and ensure efficient utilization of server resources.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, debugging code and implementing fixes as required.
- Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to enhance development methodologies and practices.
- Utilize Jira and other project management tools to effectively manage and track project progress, tasks, and timelines.

On day one, we'll expect you to have the following capabilities:
- Proven experience as a Team Lead, with a strong background in React, PHP, and Laravel development.
- Extensive experience in team management and project management in a Scrum-based environment.
- Proficient in utilizing Jira or similar project management tools to track and manage tasks and projects.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, coding standards, and best practices.
- Expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
- Knowledge of Laravel framework and its ecosystem.
Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React or Angular. - Basic knowledge in DevOps, Jenkins or similar CI/CD frameworks would be ideal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. - Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Passion for staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

- Specific K-12 and/or education technology experience
- Some experience in developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
