As our Engineering Technical Officer, you’ll be responsible for…

  • Undertaking Detailed Civil and Traffic Engineering Designs, Preparation of Estimates and Specifications for all Civil elements including roads, drainage, paths, parking areas, traffic management and road safety projects.
  • Exploring design options to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Driving budget preparation and monitoring for the Civil Design Service Area.
  • Preparing preliminary and final estimates for the Forward Works Programme.
  • Leading engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Offering design advice and direction to works supervisors.
  • Developing options and design solutions, conduct feasibility studies, and research to tackle complex traffic related designs and road safety issues.
  • Engaging in community consultation to ensure project alignment with community needs.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent or demonstrated recognised prior learning.
  • Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
  • Extensive Civil Design experience in road, traffic, and drainage related projects
  • Proficient in project management
  • Skilled in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), AutoCAD and Advanced Road Design, Civil 3D or Civil Site Design.
  • Proficient in research, data collection, analysis, and reporting 
  • Experienced in project cost estimating. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Knowledgeable in public liability insurance and Occupational Safety and Health principles
  • Extensive knowledge of road and drainage related construction methods
  • Experienced in policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Proficient in road and drainage design criteria and best practices 
  • Working knowledge of Austroads and Mainroads WA guidelines and specifications
