What is the role?
Working on a rotating roster, you will be servicing a small 12-bed facility, working across the Acute ward. In the first few days, you will be supported by fellow RNs, working together to make sure patients are looked after and their conditions are stable. This will entail assessment and treatment, patient monitoring, and communicating with the RNs and other ENs, multidisciplinary teams, the patients and the patient's families. Cannulation and venepuncture experience is preferred.
For this contract, we are looking for an EN from August to mid-September, or longer depending on your availability. Accommodation will be provided free of charge, and you will be reimbursed a travel allowance of up-to $250 each way.
Duties
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Helping residents with mobility and transfers, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers, and hoists.
- Performing wound assessments and applying dressings.
- Observing and reporting changes in residents' physical and mental health.
- Assisting in the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and dementia.
The essentials:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Enrolled Nurse in acute care.
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration.
- National Police Check.
- Diploma of Nursing.
- NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
