This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Full-time, part-time, permanent fixed-term opportunities are available for Enrolled Nurses & Registered Nurses in the following clinical areas/specialties:

Transition to Paediatrics: Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) is seeking to appoint experienced Nurses to transition to paediatric nursing. Paediatric experience is not essential, we value your skills, knowledge, and recent experience in the specialty you are applying.

You will be supported in your transition to paediatric nursing with a dedicated program of education and training, preceptorship, and collegiate support. An opportunity to undertake postgraduate qualifications to support your professional pathway in paediatric nursing is also available. About Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH): is Western Australia's specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre, with 298 beds. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, PCH offers primary care for severe medical cases and secondary services such as inpatient, outpatient, and day-stay care. Each question allows you to showcase your relevant skills and experiences in detail, with a generous word limit of 500 words per response.
  • For Enrolled Nurse Applications:
    1. Describe a situation you encountered in your clinical practice where you used your knowledge of the Scope of Nursing Practice Decision Making Framework (EN) to make a sound clinical decision. (Related to Enrolled Nurse Essential Criteria 2 & 6)
    2. Describe a specific situation where you utilized your clinical skills and expertise to collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. What specific actions did you take to contribute to a positive outcome? (Related to Enrolled Nurse Essential Criteria 4 & 5)
    3. The Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards guide our practice every day, describe your knowledge of the continuous quality improvement process and the NSQHS Standards and how you apply them to your daily practice. (Related to Enrolled Nurse Essential Criteria 3)
  • For Registered Nurse Applications:
    1. Describe a specific situation where you utilized your clinical skills and expertise to collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care. What specific actions did you take to contribute to a positive outcome? (Related to Registered Nurse Essential Criteria 2 & 3)
    2. Describe a situation where you utilized effective communication and interpersonal skills to educate a patient or caregiver about a complex healthcare topic. Explain the specific challenges you faced in communication, and how you addressed them to ensure the patient/caregiver understood the information. (Related to Registered Nurse Essential Criteria 4 & 5)
    3. The Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards guide our practice every day, describe your knowledge of the continuous quality improvement process and the NSQHS Standards and how you apply them to your daily practice. (Related to Registered Nurse Essential Criteria 6)
  • A current resume which summarises your experience and contains phone & email contact details of 2 professional referees, with at least 1 being a recent supervisor/line manager.
  • During the application process, you will have the opportunity to indicate your top three wards/department preferences you wish to apply for. This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:
