- Part-time (0.6 EFT), ongoing role responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the clinical education and supervision for clinical neuropsychologists employed by Forensicare.
- Delivers training to psychologists in line with relevant experience and expertise.
- Contributes to the education and training of Clinical Neuropsychology students and Psychology Registrars and the clinical supervision program for all Clinical Neuropsychologists.
- Oversees the growth and development of the education program for Clinical Neuropsychology as well as playing a role in supporting the interdisciplinary education initiatives of the organisation more broadly.
- Responsible for delivering education that supports the achievement of 'Best Care' – care that is safe, effective, person-centred, and connected – and drives quality and safety improvement across the organization.
- The role works collaboratively with the Psychology Educator team to engage in research and evaluation projects.
- Oversight of the Professional Development for Clinical Neuropsychologists
- Provides training to registrars, psychologists and other disciplines on topics related to clinical neuropsychological practice.
- Provides supervision to Clinical Neuropsychology registrars and students.
- Works collaboratively with the Psychology Educator team to engage in research and evaluation projects, to support the translation of research into clinical practice and to support clinical neuropsychologists to develop research ideas and contribute to research projects.
- Sound theoretical knowledge of Clinical Neuropsychology including neuropsychological assessment, neurology, neuropathology and neurobiology, and interventions in acquired brain injury, mental health and alcohol and substance use disorders
- Knowledge in clinical forensic psychology including forensic assessments (i.e., court ordered assessments, assessment of risk for violence) and intervention with offenders and/or forensic patients is desirable but not essential.
- Have demonstrated clinical experience and advanced knowledge to be able to provide education and teach other psychologists and/or students.
- Extensive postgraduate psychology experience at a senior level in mental health or forensic mental health, or other relevant setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery in a forensic context.
- Proven ability to effectively manage, develop and evaluate a psychology service.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and motivational skills.
- Proven experience in the management of professional development and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Extensive knowledge of the current psychological approaches in working with clients experiencing mental illness within a forensic setting.
- Extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, the mental health system, the forensic mental health system and the relevant legislation.
- High level of communication skills including in the delivery of education and consultation services.
- Demonstrated experience in high level strategic advice in relation to service development and practice within a complex organisational setting.
- Proven ability to supervise students and staff.
- Demonstrated experience conducting empirical research and engaging in other scholarly work.
- More than ten years' experience with demonstrated, highly developed clinical leadership skills, extensive postgraduate, professional experience and, recognized professional specialisation.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Neuropsychology or equivalent from an APAC accredited course.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practioners' Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- Must hold area of practice endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology. Forensic psychology area of practice endorsement is desirable but not essential.
- The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
- A Supervisor approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Must hold area of practice endorsement in clinical and/or forensic psychology. Dual clinical/forensic psychology area of practice endorsement is highly desirable however not essential.
