We cater for children from 0-17 years who are admitted to the unit. Our main specialities include medical, surgical, orthopaedic, ENT, plastics and mental health. We are a welcoming team and offer a supportive fun environment to all staff joining the team. The senior nursing support team includes full time NUM, CNE, CNC and CNS 2’s. The unit has a strong philosophy of quality improvement and family centred care. Royal North Shore Hospital has a positive culture and actively encourages staff to develop. Support is offered for research studies and post graduate qualifications.What you'll be doingThe NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach related to the goals of care determined by the Primary Nurse (Registered Nurse) and within professional role limits and Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice. In the delivery of nursing care the Enrolled Nurse will work under both the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.The Enrolled Nurse will consult with the registered nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence and within Local Health District (LHD) and Service policy, particularly in relation to the administration of medications.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Post Registration experience in acute hospital environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
