The Hughenden Multi-Purpose Health Service is (MPHS) is a small rural hospital with 15 beds, an oral health clinic and community health services. Up to six beds are utilised for long stay nursing home type patients. The MPHS provides an emergency service, general medical/post-surgical and paediatric inpatient care, pharmacy service, and limited antenatal and postnatal care. The Primary Healthcare Network (PHN) deliver allied health services as per schedule. Community health, child health and women's health services are available and there is a visiting paediatrician and child development service. Seriously ill patients are evacuated by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), Queensland Emergency Medical Service (QEMS) or the Retrievals Services Queensland (RSQ).
The Enrolled Nurse provides person centred nursing care under direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with the Practice Standards as identified by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred nursing care under the delegation of the registered nurse/midwife.
- Work as an effective member within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
- Use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- Own ongoing professional development.
What's on Offer: Casual rates of $44.18 to $46.89 p.h
Requirements:
- Proof of qualification (Diploma of Nursing), registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly Desirable: Evidence of completion of modules related to medication administration and peripheral intravenous therapy.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Accommodation: On-site single staff accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant.
- Rural and Remote Incentive Package (RANIP): Successful applicants to this position may be eligible for RANIP.
- Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
