Where you'll be working
The Hornsby Mental Health Intensive Care Unit (MHICU) is a 12 bed specialist resource available within the NSLD MHDA which is reserved to provide Psychiatric Intensive Care to consumer identified as presenting with high degree of acute clinical risk, diagnostic and management complexity or acute symptomology of a mental illness/disorder.

MHDA Statement of Intention
The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery-oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration.
The Enrolled Nurse in MHICU will provide high quality nursing care, specialising in the assessment, planning and implementation of strategies to manage consumers with mental illnesses who exhibit high risk behaviours and/or complex needs and in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality consumer care outcomes. This will involve liaison with other Mental Health services with regards to the referral, admission and return transfer of these consumers.
The Enrolled Nurse within Mental Health Drug and Alcohol [MHDA] Services works alongside Registered Nurses and Allied Health to support quality patient health outcomes with a focus of recovery across a range of health care settings.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrate these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Annual Registration – Enrolled Nurse Division 2.
- Nursing experience, knowledge and skills relevant to acute inpatient Mental Health settings.
