About the job:
- We have an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to experience working within our dynamic Referral and Intake (RIC) Team, on a temporary full-time basis due to extended leave, with the potential for permanent hours moving forward.
- The RIC team is co-located with the Planned Care for Better Health and Integrated Chronic Care for Aboriginal People Program (ICCAPP) teams and is operationally managed by a Nurse Manager, located on the Adamstown (Cnr Kyle and Gosford Rds) site in Newcastle NSW.
- The Referral and Intake Centre is the central access point for CACS HNELHD GNS community-based referral.
- As a RIC Intake officer you will:
- Process referrals and requests for information received via phone, Referral Information Management System (RIMS) or email, to support referrals to the Community-based service within the CACS HNELHD.
- Appropriately refer callers to alternative services according to identified needs.
- Maintain effective liaison with service providers to facilitate the provision of appropriate services for clients.
- Manage referrals via the My Aged Care (MAC) portal.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
- Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed where applicable) with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
- As a RIC intake officer you will need to have highly developed communication, documentation, technology, clinical reasoning, time management and customer service skills.
- An easygoing nature, with the capacity to change agile and the desire to ensure that referred patients are provided with a positive, person-centred experience, resulting in a referral to the most appropriate service.
- Ideally prior experience in call centre roles would be beneficial.
