Job description

Carnival Australia is thrilled to announce the recruitment of an Entertainment Coordinator for a full-time 8-month maximum-term contract with our P&O Cruises team in Chatswood, Sydney. The role requires supporting the Guest Entertainer program, theme cruise program, and various projects to ensure the delivery of a cost-effective and efficient product across our three P&O ships. The position requires weekend work, including public holidays, and a flexible approach to working hours based on operational needs including coordination of onboard entertainment to maintain a consistent, fresh, and innovative product, managing program content and overall product delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Managing day-to-day Entertainment operations, including sourcing activity supplies and prizes
* Developing Welcome Packs for Guest Lecturers and Presenters
* Organizing Theme Cruise programs, handling scheduling and communications
* Updating the Entertainment Booking Form, managing travel and cabin bookings for Guest Entertainers and Lecturers
* Coordinating delivery of entertainment supplies to the ships
* Compiling Main Event memos for all ships
* Organizing ship themes for special occasions like Christmas, Easter, Melbourne Cup, and Deck Parties
* Managing new on-board activities and events as per the requests of the Director of Guest Experience – Entertainment and Senior Manager of Entertainment Operations
* Addressing and resolving issues affecting Entertainment Program delivery
* Communicating program changes and updates effectively to shipboard management
About You:

You are a confident problem-solver, effective communicator, and can establish trust while creating positive experiences for all stakeholders. Working as part of a tight-knit team, your outgoing nature and willingness to dive in and complete tasks will distinguish you from other candidates.
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Coordinator role
* Travel or hotel/resort industry is beneficial but a keen interest in the Entertainment industry is preferred.
* Displayed capability to handle multiple tasks and adjust priorities daily.
* Proficient in general administration skills, with a preference for experience in processing invoices for payments.
* Preference for experience in project coordination, event planning, and resort activities.
* Willingness to travel on short notice, including weekends and public holidays.
* Skilled at engaging with diverse stakeholders in a complex setting.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Strong attention to detail, able to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
* Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and familiar with computerised purchase order systems.
* Demonstrates accountability, ownership, and a positive, good-humored work approach.
* Possesses business acumen, understanding how personal goals align with business objectives.
* Committed to continuous improvement and actively seeks ways to enhance business operations.
* Valid passport for minimal travel when required.
