Job description

As the Environment Advisor you will be passionate about driving change and making a difference in people's lives and the planet.

The Company

Bolton Clarke has a rich history of over 200 years, rooted in its commitment to healthcare and aged care services. With a team of over 14,000 dedicated professionals across Australia, they are driven by the goal of ensuring their customers live a life of fulfillment. Their services span across home and community support, retirement living, and residential services, and they are deeply committed to promoting active aging, health, wellbeing, and personal choice.

With a sustainability strategy in development, Bolton Clarke is looking to make a difference whilst focusing on the issues that matter.
Understanding environmental impact and building environmental resilience is a key pillar of the strategy.  Your expertise in environmental data analysis, planning and reporting will lead efforts to support a sustainable future for aged care.

Position:
As the Environment Advisor, you will work closely with the Head of Sustainability to spearhead the development and execution of the environment strategy, crucial to operations and future growth. This role is key to understanding the environmental footprint, determining strategies to minimize impact, whilst setting targets and metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environment strategy with a focus on carbon, water, and waste.
  • Collect and interpret environment data to identify and assess data gaps and opportunities.
  • Build robust project plans and metrics to support environmental change plans.
  • Be the environment SME, working collaboratively across business lines.
  • Ensure all environmental data collected meets reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and report on key environment plan performance indicators.
  • Support the climate risk and scenario planning process and lead transition strategies.

You will be confident to act decisively, focusing on practical solutions and hands-on management.

Profile

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in environmental management, preferably within the property development or heavy industry sectors.
  • Strong background in data management and scenario planning, with a capability to lead and execute detailed risk assessments.
  • Effective at working independently and driving projects to completion without full-time oversight.
  • Preferably familiar with sectors that emphasise supply chain and service management, such as property development firms.
  • Policy knowledge: A strong knowledge and understanding of state and federal climate change legislation and policy.
Personal Attributes:
  • You will be a detailed-oriented “doer”, capable of translating complex environmental data into practical action plans.
  • Consultative approach, adept at fostering collaboration and securing stakeholder buy-in.
  • Passionate about making a lasting impact on the environmental footprint of Bolton Clarke’s facilities.
Benefits:
  • This role offers a competitive salary with the potential to significantly impact strategic direction.
  • Flexible work arrangements tailored to balance on-site and remote working needs.
  • A supportive team environment with a focus on professional development and positive workplace culture.

If you are ready to drive environmental sustainability in a leading aged care and retirement living provider and contribute to a legacy of positive change, we encourage you to apply.
