About The Role
As the Senior Advisor, ESG reporting to the ESG Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the integration of Environment, Social and Governance thinking as well as climate change considerations into everyday decision making across Thiess Group. Through the provision of strategic, governance and technical support you will foster collaboration and drive an increased awareness of ESG issues both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate ESG Leadership behaviours at all times and champion a high standard across the business
- Maintain in depth knowledge of emerging trends and standard and legislative changes in ESG and the climate change space and share knowledge with relevant subject matter experts
- Coordinate the ESG Working Group for the Thiess Group and the development of ESG and climate training and awareness plans
- Lead key ESG initiatives and reporting requirements for the business and provide support to our functions and regions in meeting their annual business plan ESG and climate commitments
About You
The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in a related technical field, coupled with proven experience in an ESG Advisory role preferably in mining or heavy industry. Additionally, we will be seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Have a high level of understanding and consideration for current and emerging ESG issues
- Strong ESG legislative knowledge
- Ability to achieve joint ownership of decisions through active engagement with colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders and deliver business outcomes
- exceptional written and oral communication skills
