Environmental Advisor

Ventia are currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to join and support our Defence contract in Darwin, Northern Territory. We currently provide support across five Defence bases in the NT which includes four sites in Darwin and one in the Katherine area as well as several remote ranges. The diversity the Defence Base services contract offers, means no two days will ever be the same - Which is sure to keep you on your toes.
This role would see you who provide technical environmental expertise and oversee the Environmental management, compliance and best practice within our Defence contract.

• As part of the broader SHEQ team, you will support delivery to our Defence Base Services Contract in the Northern Territory. You will be responsible for the following:

• Provide support to our operations in managing environmental risks and compliance obligations and environmental approvals.
• Provide heritage assessments to key stakeholders.
• Undertake environmental assessments based on proposed operational works and assess approval requirements.
• Assist with implementation and monitoring of environmental strategies and action plans to achieve the environmental and sustainability objectives.
• Assist with implementation, monitoring, and continual improvements with regards to the Environmental Management System
• Ensure environmental incident reporting is in line with legislation and contractual requirements.
• Assist in environmental incident investigations as appropriate including the review of incident reports.
• Delivering the best possible outcome for clients with a focus on quality
• Preparing high quality reports and Preparing environmental approvals documentation.

You will also possess the following skills:

• Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science/ Management/ Engineering/Sustainability or similar field
• 3 years' experience at a professional level, ideally in consulting.
• A sound knowledge of environmental Standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements
• Experience delivering environmental impact assessments and approvals.
• Demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables on competing timeframes.
• A clear, concise and professional writing style

Please note as this role is on Defence you must be an Australian Citizen to obtain a Defence pass.
