Remuneration: AHP3 ($102,641-$110,094 p.a. +11% Super) + Attraction & Retention allowance

Role Details

The Department for Child Protection (DCP) is seeking multiple Senior Psychologists to join the Psychological Services team. 

The role is responsible for:

  • Providing a range of clinical assessment, consultancy, psychological therapy and treatment services for DCP clients.
  • Working closely with the Principal Psychologist to ensure psychologists provide effective and efficient clinical psychological assessments and where appropriate, the provision of therapy to clients.
  • Designing, implementing and monitoring therapeutic programs and behavioural interventions so that they are relevant to the cultural and social context of the children and their community.
  • Consulting, supporting and leading of Psychologists and Psychology Masters students by overseeing and monitoring quality of work undertaken.
  • Providing specialist psychological consultation to DCP field officers working with clientele whom the Department has a mandatory or statutory responsibility.

We are looking for a confident individual who has experience in providing clinical leadership, fostering professional development, and identifying and meeting training needs.

To be successful in the role you will also have knowledge of areas such as the effects of abuse and neglect on children and young people, child development, psychological disorders and interventions, and clinical and forensic assessment techniques.

Special Conditions

EssentialQualifications:

  • Master of Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychology degree or equivalent.
  • Psychology Board of Australia endorsement as a Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychologist or willingness to work towards clinical endorsement
  • Registered under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law to practice as a Psychologist

Attraction and Retention Allowance is available for successful candidates with endorsement in an area of Psychological Practice.
