Job description

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Purpose of the Role:
This position is accountable for the day-to-day coordination of site based HSE governance activities and construction team support to ensure that FGJV maintains a healthy and safe working environment for all personnel in accordance with FGJV Health & Safety Management system and client specifications.
Primary responsibility lies in the maintenance and coordination of the Environmental Approvals, communication of the requirements to the wider project team and integration of the requirements into the project environmental management systems.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary Environmental Management Qualifications or related discipline.
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • White Card
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of Environmental management systems and plans.
  • Interpretation and implementation of environmental programs to ensure compliance with environmental approval conditions and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice and support to the construction management team to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV and client Environmental obligations.
  • Implement Environmental plans and subsidiary systems documentation.
  • Communicate HSE issues / standards to clients and colleagues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Area HSE Activity Schedule.
  • Provide support to the Area Site Environment team with regards to Compliance.
  • Ensure the Area Site Environment team are effectively resourced to meet the obligations of the HSE Activity Schedule.
  • Assist identify Environmental training requirements.
  • Conduct analysis and produce FGJV lead and lag targets reports to Project Management.
  • Collect and consolidate regulatory documentation provided by Subcontractors as per Project requirements (eg hazardous waste logbook, certificates from providers transporting and disposing of wastes, limits for waste disposal, etc).
  • Ensure all incident event investigations are effectively conducted, recorded and information closed out in accordance with FGJV reporting timeframes.
  • Promote a dynamic and positive HSSE culture, focused on achieving success.
  • Coach and mentor HSE Advisors.
  • Ensure representation is maintained at key construction planning and coordination meetings.
  • Undertake additional tasks, as directed by the Site HSE Manager, to support FGJV's Project HSSE goals and values.
