With a team of over 250 experts, offices across Australia, and a strong reputation for innovation and quality, we're seeking dynamic professionals to join our growing team.About the roleReporting to the Bushfire Team Lead, you will be responsible for undertaking both desktop and on-ground site inspections and preparing a range of bushfire assessment and reporting outputs to support our clients' needs from site due diligence and constraints analysis to planning and building approvals and asset risk management. Thorough project management and regular client liaison are key to the role. You will also be actively participating in activities that contribute to the future development of the business and your own career.Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Conduct site inspections to inform opportunities and constraints assessments, Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessments, Bushfire Hazard Level (BHL) assessments, Bushfire Management Plans (BMPs), emergency management planning, bushfire risk management plans and compliance audit reports.
  • Apply relevant WA bushfire policy (SPP 3.7 Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas), guidelines (Guidelines for Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas) and standards (AS3959 - 2018 Construction of Buildings in Bushfire Prone Areas).
  • Prepare high quality reports consistent with relevant guidance, ensuring technical defensibility.
  • Develop relationships with clients and ensure high quality customer service throughout projects.
  • Prepare proposals, ensuring accurate cost calculations and appropriate scoping.
  • Manage projects in line with client and company expectations.
  • Collaborate on business development initiatives that contribute to company growth.
About you:
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in bushfire management planning.
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Engineering is essential, with an understanding of natural resource management and environmental sciences highly desirable.
  • FPAA BPAD accreditation Level 2 or 3 is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of State Planning Policy 3.7, Guidelines for Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas and the construction requirements of AS 3959 Construction of buildings in bushfire prone areas and the ability to apply these strategically to a wide range of planning proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to scientifically analyse and write accurate reports and complex proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships and manage projects effectively, as well as the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • A motivated team player who enjoys working with a close-knit group of professionals.
  • Full drivers' licence, and willingness to obtain a police and medical clearance.
